American Diamond traces its roots to the early 1950s when our founder Charlie
Bakhash arrived in the U.S. to sell precious gems. Beginning as a
wholesaler, he walked door to door, filling the requests of both the
industry’s largest jewelry manufacturers and its most prominent
designers.
Charlie established a tradition based on trust, honor and integrity. Guided
by these principles, and with an unwavering eye for beauty, he presented
only the highest quality diamonds, pearls and gems. Few could deny the
excellence of his collection. His exquisite jewelry was sold in only the
most exclusive retail chains and worn by celebrities and dignitaries.
Buying directly from the source, Charlie imported his “goods” from
Asia, Africa and Europe at unmatchable prices. With first storefront in
the heart of New York’s diamond district, Charlie opened his vault
to the public and offered his knowledge and expertise to consumers. |
Today, Charlie’s legacy continues online as American Diamond and
American Pearl combines more than a half-century wroth of jewelry expertise
